Oh, the shapes you can imagine at Bryce Canyon!

Thanks to Deepak, we added Bryce Canyon to our list of Utah adventure.

Bryce Canyon is a must visit! It is unique in that although it is called a canyon, it is so very different from its more-famous neighbors, Grand Canyon and Zion National Park. Bryce is not really a canyon at all, as we found out when we hiked it yesterday.

The shapes that you can “see” in the various rock formations (or “hoodoos” as they are called here) is almost endless. Similar to seeing shapes in clouds (pareidolia), we saw many shapes among the hoodoos. The famous ones (Queen Victoria, Thor’s Hammer) aside, there were many that reminded us of temples, bells, pooja materials, many animals, ganesha, and mouths of various shapes. It was fun (and a bit strenuous) to hike down the Rim Trail and up the Navajo Loop, but well worth it.

It was an out of this world experience… maybe we were on a set of a movie like Bahubali or Harry Potter.
